We are currently doing outreach to our returning families and will have space for girls from Hartford who qualify for free or reduced lunch in grades 5-8. Limited space will be available to lower grades.

The mission of Horizons at The Ethel Walker School is to help girls in Hartford public schools from low income families improve their educational outcomes.
Horizons at The Ethel Walker School builds brighter futures for under served girls from Hartford by creating year-round academic, artistic, and athletic opportunities, nurturing potential, and inspiring individual dreams in a safe and supportive community.-
-Provides a six-week, full-day educational enrichment summer session for Hartford public school students with a range of academic abilities.

Founded in 1911, The Ethel Walker School is an independent college preparatory boarding and day school for girls grade six through 12 in beautiful Simsbury, Conn. With its rich history of embodying the “private school, public purpose” philosophy, Walker’s is proud to partner with Horizons. Horizons at The Ethel Walker School is the first Horizons program in greater Hartford, and the nation’s first Horizons experience exclusively for girls.
